When you post a lost pet alert, we collect details about your pet including name, type, breed, color, distinctive features, photos, last seen location (including GPS coordinates), and your contact information.
When you report a sighting, we collect the sighting location (including GPS coordinates), photos, notes, and the time of the sighting.
We collect location data when you post an alert, report a sighting, or set alert preferences. This includes GPS coordinates and general area descriptions. Location data is used to match nearby users with relevant alerts.
If you opt in to SMS notifications, we collect your phone number to send you text alerts about lost pets in your area.
When you purchase a boost, payment is processed through Apple's App Store (for in-app purchases) or Stripe (for web payments). We do not store your credit card or payment details directly. We receive transaction identifiers and purchase confirmations.
We may collect device identifiers, push notification tokens, and platform information (iOS, Android, or web) to deliver notifications and provide a better experience.
When you post a lost pet alert, your pet details, photos, last seen location, and contact information are visible to other Cubby Alert users. Sighting reports are shared with the pet owner.
We work with trusted third parties to operate our service, including Twilio (SMS delivery), Stripe (web payments), Apple (in-app purchases via App Store), RevenueCat (purchase management), and cloud hosting providers for data storage.
We may disclose your information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cubby Alert, our users, or others.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
If you opt in to SMS alerts, you will receive text messages about lost pets in your area. Message frequency depends on your preferences and alert activity near you.
You can manage your SMS preferences in the app settings, including adjusting frequency or disabling SMS entirely. You may also opt out by replying STOP to any message or contacting our support team.
Standard messaging and data rates may apply. Cubby Alert is not responsible for charges from your mobile carrier.
We use push notifications to alert you about new lost pet reports near you, sighting updates, and boost confirmations. You can enable or disable push notifications through your device settings or within the app.
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Lost pet alerts and sighting data are retained to maintain a complete history and aid in future searches. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, though some data may be retained in anonymized form for analytics.
SMS logs and notification records are retained for operational and compliance purposes.
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password hashing, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Cubby Alert is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
Our app may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party services you visit.

When we make changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and notify you through the app or by email if the changes are significant.
